Doug Robbins

Dear Friends of NMGRA,

With heavy hearts we remember our good friend Doug Rob bins. Doug was murdered at his home on Friday, February 13, 2009. He was thirty-five years old.

Doug was the NMGRA Treasurer for 2009, and had been the special assistant to our Rodeo Director, Bob Pimentel at the 2008 Zia Regional Rodeo. Doug was an enthusiastic volunteer; always to be relied on to lend a hand and share a laugh. His cheerful, optimistic and friendly attitude, coupled with an unflagging interest and energy made him a wonderful team-member and friend.

We know everyone’s thoughts and prayers are with Doug’s little son Jonathan during this unimaginably hard time. There will be a Memorial at Sidewinders Sunday, March 1st during the NMGRA Beer Blast to honor and remember Doug. Martinique and Jesse will perform. Sidewinders will be matching all funds which will go to Doug's family. The Beer Blast is from 4:00-8:00PM.

The Board of New Mexico Gay Rodeo Association extends heartfelt condolences to Jonathan, Doug’s family and friends.
